Direct translation of the Japanese word Reiki is: the vital life force of the universe which infuses and sustains all phenomena. Reiki facilitates your own physical, emotional and spiritual healing . Reiki is, by nature, an individual experience. It cannot be definitively explained or defined, however it can be described as a non-religious, individual spiritual practice of stillness and quietude, similar to yoga or meditation. Reiki was created by a Japanese man named Mikao Usui at the beginning of the 20th century.
What is Reiki?
How does Reiki work?
Reiki practice promotes balance throughout the system, setting in motion a self-healing process on many levels. This non-invasive practice helps ease discomfort both in mind and body, allowing people to function better without the need to manipulate muscular tissue, physical structure, or with the use of any outside agent, supplement or pharmaceutical. When you feel better, you function better. When you function better, you are able to make better life and lifestyle choices, when in turn allows you to feel better, creating a cycle of health and wellness

What can I expect from a Reiki session?
A reiki session for an adult is typically one hour. These sessions may be remote or in person. You will be laying down either on a Reiki table or on the comfort of your own bed.
Reiki is generally applied through non manipulative touch, however, non touch (above the body) can also be effective if needed or desired by the recipient.
For both the practitioner and the recipient, a Reiki session is more of an offering and does not involve any ‘doing’ or intervention.
Some recipients report a tingling, or a feeling of warm or cool sensations in specific areas of the body while others just report feeling a sense of ease and deep peaceful relaxation.
